Evelyn Welch is Provost/Senior Vice President (Arts & Sciences) and Professor of Renaissance Studies in the Department of History, School of Arts & Humanities. She has responsibility for the five Arts & Sciences Faculties.

 

Professor Welch graduated from Harvard University with a BA in Renaissance History and Literature (Magna cum Laude) and received her PhD from the Warburg Institute, University of London. She has taught at the Universities of Essex, Birkbeck, Sussex and Queen Mary, University of London, where she served as Dean of Arts and Vice-Principal for Research and International Affairs before taking on the role of Provost and Senior Vice President (Arts & Sciences) at King’s College London.

Maria Hayward is professor of Early Modern History at the University of Southampton. She is currently Doctoral Programme Director for History.

 

Maria graduated from the University of Kent with a BA in History and received her PhD from the London School of Economics, University of London. Having worked at the Textile Conservation Centre, Hampton Court and later at the University of Southampton, when she was director of the AHRC Centre for Textile Conservation and Textile Studies, she is now in the History department at the University of Southampton.
